The Pretty Dish Cocktail Tasting

I recently had the pleasure of doing a cocktail tasting at The Bar inside The Four Seasons Hotel New York, located in Midtown East – 57th between Madison and Park. You can also enter on 58th (and this will put you closer to The Bar upon entry).

This drink is called the cbgb, and it has 10 Cane Rum, muddled lime, grape and ginger, and Canton Liqueur (a ginger-flavored liquor). Really good.

This one isn’t on the menu — but I’ve been told that it’s an insider favorite and regulars know that the bartender will always be happy to make it upon order. It’s a Strawberry Mojito (and hands down the best I’ve had in recent memory).

Here’s the Pisco Fever — made with pisco (grape brandy), passion fruit and blood orange puree, lime and habanero bitters. It’s refreshing and sweet.

Wondering when to go? I’d recommend either happy hour (single ladies! I hear there are a lot of professional men in the house at this time) or right before dinner. You’ll find a lively crowd during either time frame. If you’re looking for a quieter atmosphere, go when I did, around lunchtime. The Bar is very close to the flagship Bloomingdales at 59th & Lexington (and a lot of other stores, too) so you can come here for a quick cocktail break from shopping.

Now, a quick note about the outfit: you know how I love both high AND low brands, and this outfit is a true testament to making fashion choices that are easy on the wallet. I’m going for a mod look here, with a graphic print shift dress from JCPenney (seriously — less than $5o) and the booties are Nine West. Hope you’re a little inspired ;)
