Snow Day

The Pretty Dish Outfits

Fallen flurries and bare trees – the after-effects of our first “snowstorm” of the season. Luckily, the white stuff makes a nice backdrop for outfit posts…so I figured I’d bear the cold again to bring you a cold weather look worthy of weekend brunch with girlfriends or a hot cocoa break at the ski lodge.

The Pretty Dish Layering

The Pretty Dish Winter Fashion

Remember here, where I told you how great J. Jill is for basics? Well, this post is a perfect example — I’m wearing this J. Jill black top (very “layerable”) with a J. Jill sweater on top (purchased last season, you can achieve a similar look with this v neck poncho, which is currently on super sale).

The parka is by Marc New York and because I got it a few seasons ago, it’s no longer avail. However, this one by DKNY is very similar.

The over-the-knee boots MAKE this look, in my opinion. Before getting these I had been searching high and low for the perfect pair. These, by LAUREN Ralph Lauren, are perfection. They are so comfortable and the suede is really soft. I made the mistake of wearing them with a mini skirt to my apartment building’s holiday party….caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and immediately decided that I was channeling Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. So, my advice is to stick to rocking these with skinny jeans or leggings if you have long legs like me.

If you’re a TPD loyalist (and I know some of you are, love you!!), you’ve seen the necklace before because I wore it in this post. I purchased it LONG ago from Target (no joke — like 10 years ago) but you can try to find a similar one at one of my favorite stops for reasonably priced statement necklaces — Bauble Bar.
