Mixed Prints

I’m in love with mixing prints these days. It’s a great way to show individuality and add dimension to your wardrobe. Just think about how many NEW outfit combinations you can come up with by pairing the items in your closet in unexpected ways! This t-shirt/jean combo is a good example.

The trend can be a little intimidating to grasp, but if you’re in the mood for a little fashion experimenting, consider these tips:

DO stick to black and white if it’s your first time trying mixed prints. Black and white stripes play well with B&W gingham, polka dots, plaid…the list goes on. You can add a pop of color to the look with colorful shoes. Fuchsia is very in right now and I love it with black and white.

DON’T mix two tiny prints – it’s too hard on the eye. Notice how here, I mixed a wide stripe with a smaller thistle print.

DO consider leopard print a neutral – an easy way to try mixed prints for the first time is to pair leopard print with anything, Works every time.
