Assouline’s American Fashion Travel

June 13, 2011

I’m in love with coffee table books with beautiful imagery and chic covers. So when I learned about “American Fashion Travel: Designers on the Go,” it seemed like a natural fit for The Pretty Dish. This scrapbook of sorts, co-published by Assouline and the Council of Fashion Designers of America, features anecdotes from some of the world’s top globetrotting designers including Tory Burch, Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger and more. They share their favorite destinations, hotels, restaurants, shops and sources of inspiration. Below is a snapshot of the contents, and the book is available for $45 at

DVF and I share a love of the National Gallery of Art in D.C. Who knew?

I don’t know where this bazaar is, but the colors remind me of scenes from Sex and the City 2…

This picture reminds me that I can’t let this summer pass without multiple shore trips…

All images c/o Assouline.
